Bahia, Brazil – Where My Soul Took a Vacation
Let’s talk about Bahia. If you haven’t heard of it yet, you’re seriously missing out. It’s this magical state in northeastern Brazil where everything feels alive. I mean, colorful streets, beaches that look like wallpapers, and food that’ll make you cry (in a good way).
I kicked things off in Salvador, and wow – the vibe is unreal. Afro-Brazilian culture is everywhere: in the music, the people, the street art, the capoeira circles. You don’t just see culture there – you feel it. Pelourinho is like a living painting, with colonial buildings and drumbeats echoing through the alleys.
Then I made my way down the coast – Morro de São Paulo, Itacaré, Chapada Diamantina (for all you hiking lovers) – and each place had its own magic. Bahia has this laid-back rhythm where time slows down and nobody’s in a rush.
Also: Acarajé. Try it. You’re welcome.
Bahia isn’t perfect – it’s raw, real, and full of contrasts. But that’s what makes it unforgettable. It’s not just a trip – it’s an experience. One of those places that finds a spot in your backpack and stays with you long after you’ve left.
So yeah... go. Don’t overthink it. Just go.
